Dorkbot sthlm newsletter - Saturday 23, 2006!!!!

dorkbotsthlm
Hello!!!
This is an official newsletter about dorkbot sthlm nr 4 in cooperation
with Ersta Konsthall and CRAC, that will be held on Saturday the 23 of
September 2006 from 1200 (noon) to 2400 (yes, midnight!) at Ersta
Konsthall (Erstagatan 21, Stockholm).

During the dorkbot sthlm 4 event a number of guests will informally
present work under the heading Strange Things Done with Electricity. The
work will be displayed all through the afternoon, with more intense
presentations and discussions during sessions from 14.00-15.00,
17.00-18.00 and 20.00-21.00. Food and drink will be available. Be very
welcome to drop in!

In parallel Ersta Konsthall will be showing its exposition where the
Argentinian fanzine Canopus and its author Pablo Bernard presents the idea
of a degenerated architecture.

During this 12 hour informal event dorkbot sthlm nr 4 presents....

1.    Rasmus Albertsen ...will show his project involving loops of old
Commadore 64 tapes - that means making actual loops with the tape. These
tapes will be played on 6 old taperecorders from the 80'es - playing 1-3
tapes at a time, to a degree random and improvised.

2.    Lennart Westman and Gunnar Jutelius ...are going to show their video
SPIRITUS inspired by Gustaf Fröding's poetry from 1898. The first part of
the movie, Passacaglia Spiritus, has been shown around the world at
various art fairs and conventions.

3.    Henrik Jäfvert ...will be looping his flash movie(s) a-la japanese
anime about Rår, its main creature.

4.    Martin Jonsson and Ylva Fernaeus, researchers at the IT-department
of Stockholm university ...will present their project on new forms of
alternative human-technology interaction – interactive Erzulies Altar. How
can we create a new symbol language and rituals for a domain where spirit
and technology impregnate each other?

5.       Mikael Goralski, Herbert Neuwirth, Ola Hermanson, Stefan Larsson,
Emil Thuvander och Gustav Wiklund from TOP 109 ...are going to show their
short film To Play Doctor (Leka Doktor) and ponder over its meaning and
symbolics.

6.    Olle Cornéer, Christian Hörgren och Martin Lübcke ...will be talking
about their work-in-progress project Bacterial Orchestra – result of study
of self-organising sound organisms. The idea is a crossover child of
biology, sound systems, art, fractals, stimulated foton emission and the
chaos theory.

7.    Gunilla Wiel-Svensson ...is going to present her work-in-progress
short film which is a process involving the earth surface, landscapes and
time.

8.    Cloakie Grossfeldt …from design group Surface to Air will be showing
their work

9. Jonas Runberger and Pablo Miranda ...from architectural research group
Krets will present their new reactive wall paneling system SplineGraft,
featuring distributed intelligence, learning algorithms and shape memory
alloy/muscle wire for kinetic effect.
